Perhaps it is not entirely surprising that Italy has one of the strongest vegan traditions in Europe. The climate, mostly in southern Italy, will allow vegetables and fruits to grow abundantly. Traditionally , every Italian region will have many plant based dishes. Polenta, pizza, pasta, minestrone, bruschetta, focaccia, pulses and grains together with nuts, seeds, herbs, vegetables and olive oil will be used to prepare many different delicious vegan specialities. That is exactly what we have been doing here at La Luna since opening the doors in 1997. Many items on our menu are marked as a Vegan and Vegetarian (marked V on our menu). We are constantly exploring options of sourcing new ingredients such as vegan cheeses for example in order to develop new dishes. Our aim is to develop separate Vegan menu in near future.
